About
Greetings! My name is Nic Jansma and I am an independent software developer focusing on high-performance websites and apps. Prior to working independently, I was a Senior Software Development Engineer at Microsoft. I was born in Grand Rapids, MI, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Science.
My role at Microsoft started in 2005 on the Windows Performance Team, where I built and operated a large-scale performance validation infrastructure for Windows Vista and Windows 7. In 2009 I moved to the Internet Explorer Performance Team, where I designed and built performance features for IE9 and IE10, and became a founding member of the W3C Web Performance Working Group.
In 2011, after six years at Microsoft, I decided to follow my passion and dream of working independently. I’m currently building websites and iOS/Android apps in Grand Rapids.
For fun, I enjoy video games and photography, love the outdoors, participate in motorsports and relax with friends.
